1) Introduce yourself!
Hello! My name is Iesha Nadhirah but please do call me Nad or Naddie, just a weirdo artist who has loved cats and drawing since young :D I'm currently a Motion Graphics student at NYP, doing projects and surviving like any design student would.
2) Why do you do what you do?
I have always drawn on walls and surfaces since I was like 3 years old so beginning of my artist arc haha. Over the years, my parents have been supporting me in studying my interests such as Digital Animation and currently Motion Graphics Design which I'm doing now.
3) Who or what inspires you?
I do have a lot of inspirations but if I have to pick one to share, one of my inspirations would be a game called No Straight Roads, developed by a Malaysian developer Metronomik. They have a lot of amazing characters with their unique personalities and designs which I love and adore so much, as well as the background designs and concept art which caught my attention! (psst go check out NSR-)
4) How is your experience being a creator in Singapore?
One thing is that I was diagnosed with ASD so I often thought that people around me would hate me if I told them I came from a special needs school, causing me social anxiety most of the time. However, over the years, I got better at handling my anxiety and getting out of my comfort zone with the help of my family and friends along the way. I got to participate in a lot of competitions and even won some, which was one of the proudest moments and slowly exposing my work and talents to others :D
5) What do you wish would happen in Singapore to help creators?
More awareness for small and beginning creators such as this interview series. I was surprised when he asked me even though I'm not like those above-mentioned artists I saw here haha but helps us small creators in their journey :D
6) What are your goals?
Hopefully, start a small business with my family and some friends someday. For now, showing my own characters' stories through visual artworks and maybe animation skits, as well as the continuation of Scar of Wings that me and my friend worked on before for our FYP project mapping in 2022 (psst again it's on my YouTube ~)
7) Where can people find and support you?
Always active on my Instagram @nqdass but I do have a card (https://nqdass.carrd.co/) for all my social links and extra stuff so do check that out to find out more about me!
8) Anything else you want to share?
Just be yourself and you do just fine, there will be people bringing you up and dragging you down. But do remember to play hard and take breaks when having a breakdown/burnout, your mental health is important!
9) Give a shoutout to other SG creators!
Firstly, a huge shoutout to Tian En of The Super Secret Book (@thesupersecretbook) for giving opportunities for us small creators, I was really surprised when you asked if you could interview me HAHA, really appreciated and thank you!
Do check out my friends as well, their works are *mwah* amazing and beautiful!
